Let me know if you have any more questions. Please note the cancel request was 05-22-2023, the renewal was not until 05-24-20 On Tue, at 03:03 PM, "Andy Miller" ultimate-guitar wrote: The auto-renew has been canceled, no future charges will be applied. MAYBE THAT IS WHY THEY HAVE A 1STAR RATING (On Mon, at 06:13 PM, "Curtiss Stark" wrote: I did not order anything from you today. Read the emails and see the extent they are willing to go to for 24.99 It shows their lack of integrity and certainly their lack of care for their customers. I sent an email to cancel the service before the renewal date. Somehow they were able to bill my card with auto renewal. I already made it clear I didn't get a cancellation email, and saying "its our policy" does not make it less predatory.įirst of all, I never signed up for automatic renewal. There are plenty of decent services out there, avoid this one like the plague EDIT: To be clear, the response from UG does not address any of the issues above. To summarize: poor quality product, and predatory policy to try and charge people for services they do not want or use. They denied this refund as they claimed it was beyond their notice period, and they denied even refunding any part of the FULL YEAR they had charged me for. When I noticed I requested a refund since I had not used the service beyond my initial test in the trial period. Subsequently my credit card was charged for a full year. I did not receive email confirmation of this (my mistake). After checking a couple of songs, I realized their tabs were inaccurate, and then decided to cancel prior to payment. I selected a free trial with UG to test out their tabs. Poor quality service, terrible customer service I don't have time or money for any of this, but I don't want others to make the same costly mistake OR to think they are alone if they get robbed. ETA: their reply says they have no evidence of my account yet I didn't cancel it? How about they save time and face and give me a complete refund rather than making contradicting replies on trust pilot? I've reported to BBB and trust pilot. I know we rarely read reviews BEFORE we buy, but if this helps anyone. I trusted UG because of my history with them. In order for me to dispute this charge, I will have to work with my bank. I didn't want the full year, and it appears a lot of others didn't either. They are not going to refund the total amount. They used their terms of service to justify taking at least one month from the $99. I am between jobs, but more than that I have a history with UG. I'm so disappointed I'm actually crying this morning. I used my debit card because I trusted UG. Today I woke up to find a $99 charge direct from my checking account. Still I went back to the website and I canceled my subscription as soon as I made it so that I could enjoy the free trial without worry. They sent me the confirmation but I didn't notice until today that it said nothing about the free trial on the receipt. As we all know, we have to put our payment information in even for free trials -which I did. However, they had a seven day free trial period. Apparently if I needed that particular song's information I would have to sign up for their pro membership at $99 a year. I thought I would go to ultimate guitar and try to get some information about the key a specific song was in. Now I am teaching myself how to play harmonica. I taught myself how to play guitar using the free tablature that ultimate guitar used to provide.
